REFORMATION OF THE MIND BY THE SPIRIT AND THE WORD
C. AFFIRMATION LEADS TO ACTION
DAY THIRTY-TWO:
Paul to Titus, "This is a faithful saying, and these
things I want you constantly to affirm,…”
THE FIRST VITAL AFFIRMATION
The first vital affirmation of every person must be
receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Receiving
eternal life involves believing and confessing the
Truth about God, ourselves, and Jesus, the Savior.
Hearing good sermons is never enough. We must act
on the Word of Truth we have heard. We must affirm
by action that we believe God’s offer of salvation.
It is not enough to mentally accept the concept of
salvation. We must possess it by faith. We must
apprehend it. We must affirm that faith is in our
hearts and demonstrate it by speaking it and acting
on it. We must continue in this method throughout
our life.
If we have truly believed, it will begin to show in
our actions. Affirmation leads to action. The great
confession of salvation leads to a life of trusting and
following Jesus Christ. Our thoughts and words are
not enough. We must act.
“ 14 What does it profit, my brothers, if a man says
he has faith but has no works? Can faith save
him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and lacking daily
food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace,
be warmed and filled,” and yet you give them nothing
that the body needs, what does it profit? 17 So faith by
itself, if it has no works, is dead. 18 But a man may
say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your
faith without your works, and I will show you my faith
by my works. 19 You believe that there is one God; you
do well. The demons also believe and tremble.”
James 2:14-19
