REFORMATION OF THE MIND BY THE SPIRIT AND THE WORD

                           POSITIVE STATEMENTS

Merriam-Webster defines the transitive verb affirm
              as:
1 a: VALIDATE, CONFIRM. He was affirmed as
                       a candidate.
b: to state positively. He affirmed his
                       innocence.
We validate our belief in God and what He has said
by our thoughts, words, and actions. Affirm also
means “to state positively.” The Gospel transforms
us from the negative to the positive. Perhaps the
most prominent part of this is regarding our eternal
destiny. We go from headed to eternal death to
possessing everlasting life. That is a positive change,
              for sure!
But we must also change the way we talk. We
must move from negative to positive. Think how
positive our daily speech would be if we just
considered the many promises of God’s Word.
Affirming God’s Word is learning to state the positive
              in any circumstance confidently.
“ For He has said: “I will never leave you, nor
                 5
forsake you.” So we may boldly say: “The Lord is
                            6
my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
                                                                    Hebrews 13:5b-6

              DAY TWENTY-EIGHT:

Paul to Titus, "This is a faithful saying, and these
things I want you constantly to affirm,…”

                          POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE?

The heroes of the faith stated the positive. They
did not deny reality. They decided to affirm the
              positive regardless of the situation.
