blessing into our lives. As we continuously affirm the
truth, life and blessing increase in our lives, and that
which is harmful loses its grip on our souls. We can
eat from this tree of life.
“A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, but
perverseness in it crushes the spirit.” Proverbs 15:4

DAY THIRTY-ONE:

things I want you constantly to affirm,…”

WE CHOOSE OUR INWARD MEALS

The Bible often compares eating and drinking to
spiritual things. For instance, it speaks of the bread
of life, the milk or meat of the Word, etc. Therefore,
this is a natural principle of life that also applies
spiritually.
As with our outward meals, we also choose our
inward meals. Our inward meals energize our
outward activity, both naturally and spiritually.
Deciding to affirm Truth brings positive results.
Choosing to believe the lies of the flesh, the world,
and the devil also produce its fruit. We confirm our
belief with our words. Choose wisely, as no one can
escape the consequences of this choice.
Sometimes we need to get our bellies full of
something before we change our ways. In truth, we
will eat the fruit of our words. We are the result of
who we have believed and whose words we have in
our mouths. If we love God, His Words will fill our
mouths, and the fruit of our lips will be evident.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and
those who love it will eat its fruit.” Proverbs 18:21
