That’s Crazy
with Leroy at that point, any emotions or feelings she did have for him
immediately left. POOF! GONE!
She moved out of the master bedroom this time and began to
sleep in the downstairs bedroom she had designated as Big Poppa’s
room. She did not want to be anywhere near him. She should have
moved in with me then!
Thanksgiving was around the corner, and they had already made
plans for her daddy to come up. That had to be the hardest week ever;
Leroy was being his usual self, portraying the perfect husband and son-
in-law. Anything Big Poppa wanted, Leroy was Johnny on the spot
and of course, Big Poppa was eating that alive. Big Poppa kept
repeating, "Oh what a wonderful son-in-law" he had and "Oh how
perfect a husband" he was. I know she wanted to throw up, I wanted
to throw up with her telling me this! Big Poppa sure didn't know what
was going on that they were still sleeping in separate bedrooms above
his head.
She survived Thanksgiving, but she had Christmas to deal with.
Then Giselle did something I cringed at, she had committed to Leroy's
oldest brother and wife, Walter, and Darlene, to attend Walter's
retirement party in Florida. I guess she felt obligated to attend because
they were the only family members who stepped out of their comfort
zone to help address Leroy's alcoholism. Still, blood is thicker than
water.
