CHAPTER 22
Same Old Stuff

A
fter returning from Vail, Giselle allowed Leroy to move back to
the bedroom and tried to focus on stabilizing the business.
During the week following Vail, she was moving their executive
offices to a different floor. She was also working on a proposal and
we were having bad storms, knocking out the electricity.
On the weekend Giselle moved into the new office space, I
remember her telling me she was coming home tired from the move
and working on the proposal to find Leroy back to his regular drinking
ways. He was pissy drunk, trying to cook food on the grill, trying to
salvage the food that otherwise would have to be thrown out because
the electricity had been out for a week. As soon as she realized his
condition, she left and came to stay with me for the weekend.
Giselle was helping her daddy plan a fundraiser and was also
planning on attending our 25th class reunion. Giselle was telling me
about all the crazy stuff she was going through, with not only Leroy
but with all the crazy people she worked with, especially Jerome.
