know if she was prepared for the task. I just kept assuring her
everything would be alright. Giselle had not eaten one bite or slept
one wink.
Giselle would tell me that God has always spoken to her through
words found on billboards, bumper stickers, advertisements, and
children. She'd always felt that when in a state of confusion something
would appear with God's answer.
As Giselle continued to vent to me, we pulled up to a stoplight
and the van in front of us had a bumper sticker in bright red letters:
"Thou shall keep the ten commandments." She looked at me and we
both had the same expression on our faces: God is telling you
something. I then kept telling her that she needed to eat because she
had not done so in too long a period of time. Five minutes later a bus
pulled beside us that had an advertisement stating eat 5 healthy meals
a day. We just fell out laughing.
Giselle spoke with Big Poppa’s discharge planner who indicated
that Big Poppa would go to a skilled nursing facility for at least 100
days. So, she knew she had at least two months to put a plan of action
in place.
Crazy Leroy received her revised agreement and contacted Giselle
at work to inform her that he felt "uncomfortable" signing the new
agreement and they should just sell the property. She told him it did
not matter if he signed the damn agreement or not, that she and her
daddy would be moving into the house on September 1. Crazy Leroy
