Using Desmos Activity Builder to Introduce Concepts

We have developed Desmos activities to introduce several key topics in our algebra

course. These motivate students to do some exploration of the concepts on their

own prior to “learning” the material in class. We feel that this helps encourage self-

efficacy and begins the process of uniting skill development with conceptual
understanding. This session's day, and time, and room
have been changed to Thursday, 3:15 -
3:45, Richland C Room. You will also find
Ryan Thomas this session on the schedule at 7:45 on
Thursday. The speakers graciously notified
SCCTM that they were unable to attend
Emily Thomas; Mike Martinez on Friday after all, but volunteered to
present twice on Thursday.

Fun Technology Resources in Math

I will share information on GimKit, Quizizz, Google sharing with Docs, Drawing,

Sheets, and Slides, Padlet, and Fipgrid. I will be sharing how I used this to engage

studnets both at home and in the class room.
