SCCTM PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SESSIONS NOVEMBER 16 - 17, 2023
Thursday Session F7 10:10- 11:00 203
Navigating the Future of Collaboration: Harnessing the Power of
Virtual and Asynchronous Group Work Practices
As organizations expand globally and remote work becomes more prevalent, the traditional
notion of a centralized workplace is being challenged. It is important that we prepare our own
students for this likely aspect of their future career. From video conferencing and real-time
messaging to shared digital workspaces, attendees will gain insights into how these
technologies foster engagement, creativity, and productivity among distributed class groups.
By effectively leveraging asynchronous methods, students will be better equipped to optimize
their group's performance and meet project goals more efficiently. Presentation attendees will
learn tried-and-true techniques for overcoming hurdles and creating an inclusive, cohesive
group environment regardless of physical proximity.
