Igniting Students' Joy, Agency and Identity with Magma
Participants will do mathematics together and then explore strategies and make connections
by seeing their fellow participants' solution strategies via technology. We will discuss how
having learners' solution strategies highlighted can elevate student's math identities, spark
mathematical agency, and foster joy and creativity in mathematics.

Starting Strong with Manipulatives: Hands-On Standards
(K-2)
Participants in this session will explore how to build strong student understanding through the
use of manipulatives and how to transition students to more abstract thinking. Each easy to
follow Hands-On Standard lesson progresses students through the Concrete-Representation-
Abstract (CRA) approach which encourages deeper understanding with less reteaching. Come
see ways to promote student success with hand2mind!
