planning sheets in your hard copy files and as electronic files for submission according
to your district’s procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
• Record-Keeping: Maintaining your professional development points and proof for
recertification is your personal and professional responsibility. Please file paperwork and
certificates from this and any other professional development activities that you
participate in, so that you may find the information when needed.
• Speaker’s Certificate: If you served as a speaker and wish to receive a speaker’s
certificate, please email your request to: director@scctmconference.org and/ or visit
Cindy Parker at the information desk during the conference to pick up your certificate or
have it emailed to you.
Prior to the Renewal Credit Activity:
• Guidelines for Participants: Renewal credits must align with your professional growth
plan and/or support the goals of your employing educational entity. Therefore, these
credits are subject to approval by your educational district or entity. You are responsible
for maintaining all required renewal credit verification and documentation and for
submitting this verification to the appropriate district personnel for processing.
• Pre-Approval Policy: Your district determines the pre-approval policy. To assist
educators, the third-party provider should make the following information available to
prospective participants:
o Title of the activity
o Name of the sponsor/renewal credit provider, including contact information
o Date(s) and time(s) of the activity
o Location of the activity
o Objectives of the activity
o Intended audience or participants
o Projected number of contact hours (excluding meals and breaks)
This information can be provided in a brochure, conference program, agenda, outline, syllabus,
etc.
You will find the required information in the SCCTM Conference Program. Please
download a copy of the program for your future reference. You will need the
information when renewing your teaching certificate
Following the Renewal Credit Activity:
• Issuing Certificates: Within four weeks of the renewal activity's conclusion, the
provider should issue a certificate of completion to each participant. This
certificate should include the following:
o Title of the activity
