Program Updates or Changes
Pre-Plan for Backup Session Choices or Cancelations
The South Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics sincerely
apologizes for any inconvenience caused by session cancellations or
changes during the conference. While we make every effort to stick to
the scheduled sessions, unexpected situations can arise.
Unfortunately, each year, some speakers who intended to present are
unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances.
This year, cancellations may occur due to a family bereavement, illness of a
speaker, an illness affecting a speaker’s family member, or for other reasons.
Emergencies are beyond anyone’s control. Sometimes, the SCCTM Program
Committee only learns of these issues after the session time has started and the
speaker hasn’t arrived. In other cases, we receive notice in advance and attempt to
arrange last-minute replacements.
We encourage you to cross-check the sessions you planned to attend with the
updated schedule on SCCTM.org and be prepared with alternative options. The
exhibit hall is open throughout the conference, offering another opportunity to
explore. While we have contingency plans for emergencies, we don’t always receive
enough notice to arrange substitute sessions.
To stay informed about any last-minute changes, we recommend signing up for our
GroupMe text messaging service. This will provide real-time updates on schedule
adjustments and help you revise your plans as needed.
We apologize in advance for any disruptions to your session plans due to these
unforeseen circumstances. Additionally, some session rooms may reach full
capacity. Please have backup sessions in mind in case your first choice is
unavailable.
