Integrated Insights: Exploring, Geometry, Measurement, Data,

and Wri�ng

Design and build a math city using graph paper, where you'll create both 2-D and
3-D shapes. Start by dra�ing nets for your structures, and then calculate their
volume, area, and perimeter. This hands-on, interdisciplinary project encourages

crea�vity and cri�cal thinking while emphasizing collabora�on and
communica�on. Incorporate descrip�ve wri�ng to explain your designs and
calcula�ons within a real-world context. Grades PreK - 5

Ownership in Math Instruc�on

To foster deep understanding and engagement in mathema�cs, it is crucial to

establish clear success criteria and promote student ownership of learning. This
presenta�on will delve into strategies for defining and communica�ng success
criteria, and how these can empower students to take control of their learning

journey. Grades PreK - 5
