~Nonpareil Chapter~

      2018 Healthy Choices Conference: “Choosing My Best Journey

April 28, 2018, the Nonpareil Chapter of Top Teens of America
hosted its 2018 Healthy Choice Conference at the Mt. Pilgrim
Educational Student Center in Baton Rouge, LA. The
Conference featured a Healthy Choice fair with
representatives from the State Police Department (bullying
and safe relationships), Healthy 360 (nutrition and exercise),
Healthy Air (smoking cessation), Chi Eta Phi Professional
Nursing Sorority, Inc. (health screenings), March of Dimes
(volunteer opportunities); and the Mt. Pilgrim Girl Scout
Troop #204 (image boards and healthy body image). The
Top Teens participated in line dancing and facilitated
discussions on living their best lives! Over 50 youth
attended this year’s event. Lunch was served and everyone
enjoyed a delicious snowball.

                                                  Top Teen Lyndsy Joseph joined the Nonpareil Chapter in November 2017.
                                                  Top Teen Joseph is a seventh grade student at MSA-West. Last summer,

                                                      she attended the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF): Explore
                                                         STEM July 2017 at the University of Texas at Dallas. She is a
                                                            dedicated member of the: 4-H Club, Robotis Club, Jr. Beta Club;
                                                              and the Talented Theatre and Gifted Program. This past
                                                                February, Top Teen Lyndsy’s Robo Knights Robotics team
                                                                 finished 2nd place at the Louisiana Regional Championship
                                                                  Tournament sponsored by First Tech at the University of
                                                                  New Orleans! In addition, Top Teen Lyndsy participated in
                                                                   the DUKE University’s Talent Identification Scholar
                                                                   program, a nonprofit organization that supports academically
                                                                  talented students in grades four through twelve. This
                                                                  program allowed her to take the ACT as a seventh grader.
                                                                 Top Teen Lyndsy earned a composite score of 20, meeting the

                                                                benchmarks for all subjects!
