Dale City-
~PrinceWilliamChapter~
Wow, what a year for our DC-PWC Top Teens. Our teens have had a busy year and they shined bright like the sun. We
started our year off ultimately preparing for our Area Conference, and meeting the mark on our calendar of events. Our
Dale City teens have blown our socks off at their showmanship and team player attitudes. We partnered throughout the year
with our ladies to engage with the Status of Women, Senior Citizens, as well as Community Beautification to complete
projects, meet deadlines, or set aside time to come and support what events were going on within the chapter. We held
fundraisers to help with cost to our Area Conference, and we succeeded with that.
In preparation for our Area Conference, some of our teens were shy and feeling ill prepared for the competitions that were
underway. After encouraging those teens to step up and just try, we were wowed again. As our motto for TTA states “We are
better together” our teens knew they were not alone, we jumped in to assist in studying for the spelling bee by holding study
sessions, we help practice sessions for those teens could practice their instruments for the “Who’s Got Talent” competition,
and we listened as our very own Courtney Parker recited her speech for the “Speakers Tournament.”
Once we arrived at Area with 13 teens bright eyed at what to expect, however all smiles because these teens were ready to
experience what they have worked so hard all year long for. We have some awesome teens in our chapter and they make all
our Top Ladies proud and we were completely blown away by what they could accomplish at the conference.
How do we count the many ways DALE CITY conquered & collected...Honorable Mention Area II Outstanding Programs
of Work, Honorable Mention Chapter Showcase Award, First Place Spelling Bee Winner (Teen Nahdiri Taylor-Sullivan) and
the First Place Speaker Tournament Contest (Teen Courtney Parker). That’s not all, Teen Nahdiri, also performed her talent
of playing the Cello in the Area II Got Talent Contest! Our Teens are DYNAMIC in every way!!!
