Serving the Community- Hunton YMCA

Winter break was a time of service for the Hampton Roads’ Chapter of Top Teens of America and Top Ladies of
Distinction Inc. Each year the Teens, Ladies and parents, collect hats, gloves and books for the Hunton YMCA students.
On December 27, 2017, the chapter delivered enough hats, gloves and books to serve 4 classrooms. The Teens, Ladies, and
parents sorted and delivered the items to each classroom based on age. Approximately, 120 elementary to middle school
students received a hat, a pair of gloves and a book of their choice. Not only were the children and staff excited to receive
the items, they also enjoyed the time spent with the Teens, Ladies, and parents. This annual event is one of the most
fulfilling opportunities for our teens because it promotes volunteerism, social responsibility, literacy, and fellowship.
