Area III

~Confluence Chapter~

While you were asleep on Saturday May 19, the Confluence Chapter already up and working.

1st stop of the weekend – Community Women Against Hardship Annual Walk for Life. The Ladies and Teens arrive in Tower
Grove Park at 6am to assist with the set-up for the walk. Teens Jenae’ , Kris, JeVon, Devon and Alexis, began unloading the
truck, setting up tables and chairs, cleaning off the park tables, taping table cloths, icing up water and juice, arrange the food
items on the table you name it, we got it done. Once the area is set, now let’s get ready to walk!!!! But first we must stretch to
get our bodies ready for the next journey. The music starts and stretch to the left to right, bend down, squat!!! Muscles ready
to roll. Teens walked to support the organization and had bonding time to talk and laugh. After the walk is complete, now we
serve the walkers, hot dogs, chip fruit, granola bars just to name a few items that were available. Don’t forget now its time to
clean up. Pack the tables and chairs back on the truck. Lots of physical activity. But we are not done for the day!!! We load up
and head out!!!

2nd Stop—Top Teens of America Walk Benefitting St Jude!!! The 4 chapters in the Metropolitan St Louis area come
together to walk for St Jude. So we start over, Teens Jenae’ , Kris, JeVon, DeVon, Alexis, and Jordan….
unloading the coolers and icing down the juice and water and don’t forget the Blue and Pink
tablecloths that must be used for our colors. Oh wait, we must take some pictures ….After a few greetings,
Yes we must stretch again, to get those muscles ready…and off we go. Teens and Ladies walked the trail like
professional walkers. Once we finish this walk, now the Teens are showing signs of nap time, but we must
first, clean up the park and leave it better than we found it..

Onto Sunday, May 20!!!! Confluence Teens decided to Bowl for March of Dimes. A 58
Bowl A Thon!!!! Yes they bowled or something that resembles bowling to secure
donations for March of Dimes. The scores were not so high, but the fun was over the
moon….and for a good cause!!! Oh but we aren’t done, we have to support our
graduating senior at his graduation party. We head to see Teen Jordan, he was excited to
see us.
