-Geraldine Hughes.-

of seclusion, he could easily identify with a child because of
his childlike personality. I imagine that, to him, being around
children was like reliving his childhood, one that he was robbed
                          of while pursuing stardom.
For Michael Jackson the kiss of death, a modern day Judas,
came in the form of a child. A child was apparently used to
bring Michael Jackson down, while being coached and ma-
nipulated by adults. The same child upon whom he had lav-
ished gifts, trips and tours. Just a couple of months before the
child abuse allegations surfaced, the boy, his mom and step-
sister accompanied Michael Jackson to an award show in Mo-
rocco. Prior to the custody battle between the boy's parents,
Michael Jackson offered to take the boy, his mom and sister on
the Dangerous World Tour. It was this proposed excursion that
                          sparked the custody battle.
A child, however, could not have done this alone. It is in-
teresting to note that prior to the child abuse allegations, the
boy's father was trying to raise money to produce his own
movie. The boy shared that same interest with his father. Just
months before, in July 1993, the boy's father co-wrote the movie,
Robin Hood: Men in Tights, with Mel Brooks and David Shapiro.
It is my understanding that the idea for the movie came from
the boy and his father co-wrote it with the other writers. The
movie was a success and played in theaters worldwide.
The idea to write Robin Hood came from the 13-year old
Chandler boy long before he met Michael Jackson. Out of all
the news reports that I heard concerning this case, the fact that
the boy and his father had an interest in producing movies
was down-played or ignored. To be able to write movies, you
must have a vivid imagination capable of creating believable
story lines. The boy and his father demonstrated that they were
creative enough to put their heads together and collaborate.
Could the child molestation allegation have been another one
of their brilliant works of collaboration?
