               Argument Essay 2

The writer of this essay is willing to share the road, but thinks that

truckers—and their rigs—should be held to a higher standard.

                        Curbing the Trucking Industry
Truckers have been called “the knights of the road,” and

for the most part, it’s true. Drivers of the big rigs will

usually change lanes to let a car onto the interstate,

radio for help for a stalled car, or flash lights in a friendly

warning that a speed trap lies ahead. Yet trucks cause

problems, too. The trucking industry and the government
should join forces to curb unsafe drivers, control

pollution, and keep truckers away from residential areas.
