               Method 3: Semicolon





               Using a semicolon to join clauses works best with ideas that are

               closely connected and need no transitional word to explain the

               connection between them. The semicolon is the grammatical

               equivalent of a period, but the first letter of the clause after the

               semicolon is not capitalized.



                    Pattern: Independent clause; independent clause.




               The semicolon goes between the two clauses.
