I was definitely one of those who would hate working from

我想补充一点,每个人需要温柔地 life, we all tend to work harder. Anyways, I find myself not

我的工作很大一部分是指导,所以我非常乐意与学生们面 be living and working in the same space. So all those struggles

I have the absolute pleasure of speaking to students in person
还有一件事我想补充:因为我们无法面对面在公司走廊谈 and they're professionals and high achievers. Everyone's
My colleagues are struggling, I find by having

so that's the only thing I would add. Absolutely exercise, breaks,
我们已 it's okay give yourself permission to not feel 100%, or even 80

One more thing that I would like to add is to connect with your
听上去有点困难,因为你 colleagues, because it's not naturally going to happen now. You
看不到人们的脸,看不到他们的反应,所以你很难真正感 have to take the time and actually put it in your schedule and

little hallway conversations or I would run into my students and
例如,你们可以在虚拟的咖啡 have like chit chat or exchange a quick idea with a colleague
Now, it's easy for us to let that go.

Maggie: We are social animals, so I think the social life is also
如果你认识一个人,就 important part of our normal life in a virtual environment. It
像你提到的那样给他们发邮件联系会更容易一些,但如果 feels a little bit harder because you can't see people's face, you
can't see the reaction, so it is a bit difficult for you to really feel
你不认识那个人,那就像 Maggie 提到的那样,你们可以 connected or build rapport, but you still can do a lot of activities
视频可以 and also have some fun. For example, you can do virtual coffee
帮助你们接近面对面的交流, 纵然不能看到对方所有的肢 sessions to talk, and you can share the common interest which

另一个建议是检查你 a lot of people making short videos to record their own life, you

your new friend, to reach network or join the virtual groups to

have fun, and reach people naturally, and be proactive to take
                                                                  those actions.

Paulina: I think scheduling meetings is important. If you know
somebody then it's a little easier to send them an email and ask
them to connect as you mentioned, but when you don't know
have five things in common etc. That could be important even
if you don't know anything else about them. Having video on
can help you get closer to the in-person type of interactions, yes
we're not getting all the cues, we're not picking up the energy,
we can't see all the body language, it's a little bit harder to tell,
but we can still pick up a little bit more than what we could if
we're on a Zoom call with the videos off. It's more likely that
people will talk to you, so even when you're networking in large
events, make sure the camera is on, make sure you're
responding and paying attention. For the one-on-one
networking conversations, put in that time for small talk, and be
genuine, be yourself, be real, be honest. Another tip could be to
check your internet connection and the video camera, and be
aware that you're visible on screen.
