    加拿大的多元化与包容性

    Ashley Warburton 在过去很长一段时间内都参与了促进性别平等、公平投资的事业。目前,她是加拿大财富管理多元化
    领导委员会的成员。她分享了两点具有代表性的变化。其一,人们更加能够意识到文化差异,并且不再避忌谈论他们对特
    定文化、特定生活方式的看法。其二,企业的领导层开始对招聘设置条框,以期在社会问题上表现出领导力。例如在 RBC
    全球资产管理的面试中,50%的面试者必须为女性等。总的来说,每个人都在文化多样性和包容性的旅途上,并不断前行。

    Anthony Lam 再次认同 Ashley 的观点。首先,当他了解了更多关于如何拥有归属感和如何融入公司文化的知识时,他认
    为加入 ERGs 非常重要。因为一旦进入 ERGs,你就会真正开展你的社交。你会遇到来自不同部门的人,这就是你真正成长
    的方式。第二,永远不要害怕表达自己的想法。作为老板,他非常愿意倾听和帮助员工实现价值,并共同创造一个包容性
    的团队。

    Pengfei Sun 从美国搬到加拿大后,更切身地体会到了文化的多元性和包容性。他表示:在数据科学领域,男女比例略显
    失衡,但总体的包容性依旧很强。最近,公司会做性格评估,测试每个人的性格,注重 “以人为本” 。目前,他的团队
    中有来自世界各地的伙伴,这使他能够经常听到很多创新性的观点,并受益良多。

    MY: Can you share a bit about the prevalence of diversity and inclusion culture in today’s work environment?

    AW: I have been participating in many events in the past that pertains to gender equality, even serving as a member in a Canadian
    Wealth Management Diversity Committee. Things have gotten better in the last few years, one is that people are more willing to
    discuss these topics, and that organizations like RBC are implementing measures such as a minimum hiring standard for females.
    Overall, the tolerance for these conversations and the policies are becoming more measurable.

    AL: I fully understand the importance of inclusion as part of a firm’s culture. An important part of these initiatives are employee
    resource groups (ERGs), which gives employees access to people all over the firm. This fosters sharing of different perspectives,
    which in my opinion helps people truly grow. I would also encourage people to share their opinions. As a manager, it is extremely
    valuable to hear this feedback as I want to help solve their problems and maximize their ability to perform on the job, making the
    workplace more inclusive.

    PS: Canada has embraced this concept more deeply than the U.S. In the STEM field, the male/female ratio has always skewed to
    the former. A lot of companies are now improving their candidate profile assessments. For example, my team is currently full of
    people  from  all  over  the  world  and  a  big  benefit  is  hearing  different  opinions,  this  stimulates  creativity  which  is  crucial  for
    innovation.
