HEAD OF SCHOOL WELCOME

Dear Faculty and Staff,
Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year. Renbrook School has been defined for decades by its
diversity and quality of people, program, pedagogy, and collective kindness; but nothing and no
one is more central in defining Renbrook than the role faculty and staff play in the daily life of the
school. Thank you for joining our team in service of our students. What a privilege it is to do this
purposeful work!
This handbook is a very thorough and thoughtful document that reflects the ways we serve the
school and our children. Much of it reflects common sense; some if it will serve as helpful
reminders about particular policies, procedures, and expectations; and a bit of it covers very
specific issues that are unlikely to occur but must be referenced. As a Renbrook faculty or staff
member, it is vital that we read it all and reference its contents when necessary.
A large part of my job is to serve our faculty and staff so that you can deliver excellence in all
that you do. The success of Renbrook is largely tied to the quality of our individual efforts and,
with shared values and a deep commitment to children, we become even greater than the sum of
our individual parts.
