CONFLICT OF INTEREST POLICY
The school requires all Trustees, employees, and selected members of the Parent Association to sign annual
Conflict of Interest forms as a governance component of the annual financial audit. Interaction with school
vendors and/or activities involving related parties is not banned, but must be disclosed.
DOCUMENTATION ALTERATION AND DESTRUCTION POLICY
The Sarbanes-Oxley Act was passed into federal law in 2002 as Congress' response to a wave of corporate
scandals. It sets forth guidelines about such issues as the honest reporting of financial matters within a
corporation.
If Renbrook ever becomes the focus of a federal investigation or inquiry involving financial reporting, alleged
fraud or similar matters, the following must occur:
The Chief Financial Officer, who oversees the records management procedures of the School, will order a
cessation of all document destruction until, with legal consultation, Renbrook is reasonably assured that all
documents related to the applicable investigation are secure and thus available for the investigation.
It is a crime to alter, cover-up, falsify, or destroy critical documents in order to obstruct or influence a pending
or actual investigation by any federal department or agency. Emails, voice mails and all other electronic
messages related to the investigation are also considered documents and must not be altered, erased or
destroyed. When in doubt, do not alter, destroy or erase.
The school is required to archive all electronic document transmissions.
