United States. Though not flawless, particularly when abused by
those we have given the responsibility of governing; it is the most
powerful document of individual freedoms and limited government
in the world. The history of our Constitution dates back to the
Magna Carta and several documents throughout history, as
discussed previously in this work. The road to freedom was not

has since seen twenty-seven amendments, the first ten being the
Bill of Rights. Of the articles, the first three Articles established the
unique form of government consisting of three branches, their
separation of powers, and laws governing these branches. The last
four Articles defined the principle of the federal form of
government.
The debate to ratification was carried out in the Federalist
Papers (supporting) and Anti-Federalist Papers (opposed), as
previously discussed. In addition to defining individual and states’
rights, our Constitution defines a new central – federal –
government. The Constitution Convention was held in Philadelphia

beginning May 15 1787; in the same [now renamed] Independence
Hall that the Declaration of Independence was unanimously passed
