Fruit and Vegetable Carving

           Fruit and Vegetable carving is the art of carving fruits and vegetables, commonly
           used not only in cultural and tradition ceremonies but also in households.

           It originated from Asia and began to grow outside of Asia in the mid-20  Century.
           Since then other cultures have slowly come to appreciate the beauty and culture
           associated with the practice. Today, one can marvel at vegetable carving through-
           out the world.


           The products of vegetable carving are generally flowers or birds, which are gener-
           ally used as a garnish or for flower arranging. In terms of fruit carving, the most
           popular one that artists use are watermelons, apples, strawberries, pineapples, and
           cantaloupes.
