POLLING ROOM ETIQUETTE/GUIDELINES
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT ALL POLL WORKERS FOLLOW PROPER PROFESSIONAL ETIQUETTE.
REMEMBER: Your actions reflect on the Supervisor of Elections and Sumter County.
ALL ELECTION WORKERS MUST REVIEW & FOLLOW ALL GUIDELINES:
WORKERS MAY NOT DISPLAY ANY PARTY AFFILIATION
ELECTION WORKERS MUST REMAIN NONPARTISAN
-- NO POLITICAL CLOTHING/ITEMS –
- NO CAMPAIGN BUTTONS --
Your party is only important in helping to have a “party-balanced staff” at each
polling place, as required by Florida Statute. If voters ask your opinion regarding a
candidate or amendment, you MUST refrain from engaging in conversation
VOTER EXCEPTION: It may be acceptable for voters to wear political attire
while in the polling room, but they must leave the room
immediately after casting their vote. Lingering to chat or wait on
someone would be considered a form of solicitation and is not allowed. The room
should always be checked so that no flyers or campaign literature has been left
behind. If you find any, be sure to place it in the garbage.
Under no circumstances can you accept any literature from a voter or have any on the tables or polling room.
DRESS COMFORTABLY, BUT TASTEFULLY

NO CAMPAIGN BUTTONS, T-SHIRTS, PINS
OR ANY OTHER ITEMS

KEEP CONVERSATIONS TO A MINIMUM
