POLLING ROOM ETIQUETTE/GUIDELINES

if everyone wears something to put away cell phones while in
different, polling room to vote

NO PETS*, IN OR NEAR POLLING ROOM

YOU CAN’T LEAVE THE POLLING PLACE
FOR ANY REASON
If you leave the polling place YOU CANNOT RETURN
BRING ENOUGH FOOD & DRINK
TO LAST THROUGH THE DAY
You will be at the polls from 6:00 a.m. until you are finished.
It may possibly be after 8:00 p.m., so be prepared.
A cooler and thermos is acceptable.
Bring any medications you will need for the day &
a pillow or cushion for your chair is always helpful. You should
also bring a sweater or jacket in case you chill easily. The air
conditioning may not be adjustable in some of the polling places.
DURING SLOW TIMES, (i.e. when there are NO voters in the room)
you may read a book, crochet, knit or work crossword puzzles
o EXCEPTION: Reading material may not be any type of magazine or newspaper in the
polling room.
o EXCEPTION: Crossword puzzles may NOT be in a newspaper
o Kindles are okay
If a voter comes into the room, you must put your item on the floor (off the table), whether they
are in your line or not
