ELECTION EVENING PROCEDURES
FOR ALL ELECTION WORKERS
Clerk informs Poll Deputy when it is 7:00 p.m.
Poll Deputy will announce, “The polls are now closed.”
If there are voters in line at 7:00 p.m., when the announcement is made, the Poll
Deputy will stand behind the last person in line.
Anyone who comes to vote after the announcement will not be allowed to vote -
NO EXCEPTIONS!
The Poll Deputy will remain in line until the voter in front of him or her has been
given a ballot.
DO NOT BEGIN CLOSING PROCEDURES UNTIL THE LAST VOTER IS OUT OF
THE POLLING ROOM.
Evid Inspectors may shut down the Evids when the last voter has been
processed through them.
After all voters have cast their ballots, everyone will assist in the closing
procedures, as directed by the Clerk.
After all voters in line have finished voting, public observers, if any, are allowed to
enter the polling room to observe the closing procedures.
OBSERVERS MAY NOT INTERFERE WITH THE ELECTION BOARD MEMBERS.
CLOSING PROCEDURES FOR ALL ELECTION WORKERS
(see Appendix for specific position for additional duties)
Take Evening oath - administered by the precinct deputy
o Workers Sign the OATH signature line for titled job (Precinct Report Form Section 6
– Night Oath);
Receive Evening Job Duty Check-Off List from the Clerk.
Help close down the precinct (including the booths see page 6-7 for step by
step instructions).
Return your Evening Job Duty Check-Off List to the Clerk after completing all
duties and initial.
Be sure the precinct is left in the condition it was found or better.
At the End of the day pack up your supplies for your bag.
NO ONE IS TO LEAVE UNTIL THE CLERK DISMISSES YOU
PLEASE LEAVE TOGETHER. DON’T LEAVE ANYONE THERE ALONE.
