DIVERSIFIED EMPLOYEE HANDBOOK
• Visual conduct: leering, making sexual gestures, displaying of sexually suggestive objects or pictures,
cartoons or posters
• Verbal conduct: making or using derogatory comments, epithets, slurs, sexually explicit jokes,
comments about an employee's body or dress, verbal sexual advances or propositions
• Physical conduct: touching, assault, impeding or blocking movements
• Physical Violence, including sexual assault
It is equally prohibited for males to sexually harass females and other males, and for females to sexually harass
males and other females. Sexual harassment on the job is prohibited whether by supervisors, coworkers, and
persons doing business with or for Diversified.
Similar behaviors (e.g., derogatory comments, jokes, cartoons, physical aggression, etc.), when based on race,
color, religion, age, national origin, disability or other legally protected status, also violate this policy. Employees
should keep in mind that conduct which appears to be welcome or tolerated by one employee may be very
offensive to another.
Discrimination and harassment based on any protected status is unacceptable in the workplace and other work-
related settings, such as business trips, deliveries, and business-related social functions.
Complaint Procedure†
Employees who believe they have been discriminated against or harassed on the job, or who are aware of such
conduct toward others, should immediately report the conduct to their supervisor or member of the PeopleTeam,
so that an investigation and any corrective action may be taken. Sexual Harassment specific complaint forms can
be found under “Quick Links” in the Human Resources section of the OneStop site. All reports of harassment
should include the details of the incident(s), names of individuals involved and the names of any witnesses.
Reports and complaints of discrimination and harassment will be promptly investigated by a member of The
PeopleTeam. At a minimum, the individual making the report or complaint and the individual identified as the
perpetrator will be separately interviewed to determine the facts. Once the investigation is completed, a
determination will be made and communicated to the employee(s) involved. If the report is substantiated,
appropriate corrective action will be taken, up to and including termination of employment. Appropriate action
will also be taken to deter any possible future discrimination and/or harassment.
Diversified will not retaliate in any way against an employee who reports discrimination or harassment, nor will
Diversified permit any other employee to do so. Any person, who is found to have retaliated against another
employee for reporting discrimination or harassment, or participating in a harassment investigation, will be
subject to the corrective action, up to and including termination of employment.
All complaints of discrimination or harassment brought to the attention of The PeopleTeam will be treated as
confidentially as possible, consistent with the company’s duty to investigate and respond to the complaint.
