13 • •• • CHANGE CONTROL AND REQUEST
All deviation requests for changes to chemical(s), component(s), product(s), tooling, production processes, sub-
suppliers, manufacturing locations originating with a supplier must be submitted to the Quality and/or
Purchasing Groups. The request must be initiated utilizing Sun Product’s “Change Request” form and supporting
justification shall accompany the request. This should include information on costs, impact on performance,
form, fit and function, reliability and functional test data, field testing (when appropriate), component, process
and product capability studies and other documentation as deemed necessary after discussions between the
supplier and Sun Products.
PRIOR NOTIFICATION IS REQUIRED BEFORE CHANGES ARE MADE.
If warranted, Sun Products Corporation will facilitate a deviation to permit continued production for the length
of time needed for the supplier to complete the change.
14 • •• • PROBLEM RESOLUTION
I. NRCCA Process:
Upon receipt of nonconforming material Sun may issue the Nonconformance Root Cause Corrective Action
(NRCCA) form. Nonconforming material can be found during incoming inspection, audit, assembly or
customer returns.
Problems found during pre-production and are considered minor issues; Sun will issue Quality Alerts to the
supplier describing the problem.
Return Material Authorization (RMA) is required for material that is defective or considered suspect and
need to be returned to the supplier.
Sun reserves the right to sort suspect material to avoid shutdown of its production lines and return partial
rejects to the supplier.
Within 72 hours of notification of defective components through NRCCA, suppliers must:
• Address all suspect stock in transit, and any stock at any Sun facilities or Sun Co-packer facilities
• Specify what actions are to be taken
• Inform Sun the plan to replace suspect material
• Identify short term corrective actions
• Send initial corrective action responses
Within 14 business days of notification of defects suppliers must:
• Complete root cause investigation and report outcomes and corrective action
Within 30 business days of notification of defects suppliers must:
