themselves to cheat one meal a week, with no holds barred, and eat
whatever they want. Because it’s only one meal a week, the body can
metabolise the extra calories without putting on extra weight.
We know a personal trainer who is as skinny as a rake, who polishes off a
whole 200g bar of chocolate every week following the usual Sunday feast,
and never puts on a gram (she takes the whole day off – not just a meal). We
can’t guarantee it will work if you eat 50 chickens and 2 whole chocolate
cakes along with 4 litres of Coke on your ‘meal off,’ but you will be able to
cheat.
Okay, so now to the point: we do not dictate to you what, when and where
to eat. We can only advise, and point you in the right direction.
So as we now tackle each of the programmes, see which one works for you,
which one resonates the most with you, and then see what type of eating
plan would suit you best. You may find a pattern that a low-starch diet works
best, or you may find that you enjoy carbs in moderation – or perhaps you
will find something where you can mix ‘n match.
Right. Now let’s get down to the nitty-gritty of the various diets and
programmes, shall we?
