Page 11 - BTC Debunking the diet
P. 11
As we spill the green beans on the various programmes that we discuss, we
will also share with you one or two eating plans, which relate most
specifically to the diet/programme that we are discussing.
Lastly, a little psychology…
Just like you, we are human. That means we understand the fundamental
difficulty in not turning your stomach and your taste buds into objects of
worship, LOL! From an ecclesiastical point of view, you may question why it is
that Nature has made food taste so good, and has made the receptors that
interpret that deliciousness so extremely effective (our senses of taste and
smell).
Like all things in life, the irony is that as you LOSE weight, you also GAIN
something back, for there is never a loss without a gain, and vice versa. As
you LOSE the weight (and the wonderful sense of eating for unbridled
pleasure), what you GAIN back is your health. In some cases it might be your
confidence. Sometimes it’s the simple joy of walking past a mirror or a
window and instead of wincing and avoiding the image of yourself, you stop
and take a double-look and say, “Damn, that’s a nice ass!” Maybe what you
gain back is a partner. Though we don’t believe in shallow people, there is a
little something to be said for the animal chemistry that comes from pure
physical attraction. People who look good tend to earn more money, get
promoted faster, and have people like them more.
None of these factors may sway you. In fact, they might disgust you, that the
world is such a hedonistic place. Then do it for yourself. Do it for your health.
Do it so that you have more time to live life, see the world, enjoy your
grandchildren. Whatever. Do it for you.
