MATHEMATICS CLUB MATH OLYMPIAD (GRADE 4-12)
The objective of conducting a Math Olympiad is:
• To provide a challenging, engaging mathematical experience.
• To increase their knowledge in Maths and to develop computational
skills.
• To provide students with opportunities to compete well.
There were separate sessions for juniors and seniors.
Math Olympiad -Juniors (Grade 4-6)
The students were divided into 6 groups. The quiz consisted of 3 rounds –
Round 1 and 2 tested mathematical knowledge, understanding and application.
The third round was rapid fire round which examined the contestants’ I.Q
level and in-depth knowledge in math.
Math Olympiad -Seniors (Grade 7-12)
The students of grade 7-12 competed with each other in 4 groups. Entire quiz
had 4 rounds. Rounds 1 and 2 were Picture round. The round 3 was Challenge
round and the 4th round was Rapid-fire round. The challenge round and rapid-
fire round hogged the limelight of the show as it examined the contestants'
I.Q level and in-depth knowledge in math.
On the whole it was an enriching, interesting and a fun filled activity.

The Quiz club aims to identify students who have a flair for quizzing. Its
objectives were:
• To identify students who are talented in quiz and to create

opportunities for them to sharpen their quizzing skills.
• To instil in our students the values of Knowledge, Wisdom
and Compassion and make them smart citizens.
• To enable them to participate in regional, national and international
quiz.
• To update the knowledge of the students in various fields like science
and technology, sustainable environment and sports (Badminton, Table
Tennis/Football)
ROUND -1 -Who? When? & What?
Science & Technology:
Picture round was conducted presenting different photographs of scientists,
old and latest inventions, testing the depth of student knowledge about the
scientific inventions and the great people behind those inventions.
ROUND – 2 -Multiple Choice
Environmental Science, Geology, Ocean Sciences,Weather &
Atmosphere.
The teams were given multiple choice questions to test their understanding and
learning in the above said topics. The teams had time for discussions before
finalizing their answers, as the questions were highly challenging and had
covered a wide range of interesting facts in different fields in science.
ROUND – 3 -Identify & Highlight
SPORTS (Badminton, Table Tennis/Football)
The most interesting and awaited round was the sports quiz. Questions were
based on the important players of the specific games such as badminton, table
tennis, football and their achievements.
All the teams participated with good competitive and cheering spirit when they
tackled challenging questions.
The club has attained its objective by empowering the club members as well as
the teachers in charge to take active role in expanding and exploring the
unfamiliar areas in different rounds of quizzing.

All the members of the quiz club worked well for the successful completion of
this meet. Going by the huge pool of young talent, we are confident that GIHS
will continue to fly in the quizzing circuit in the years to come.
