GRADE 11-A
The students of 11A stepped away from books last Sunday along with
others to participate in a ground-breaking event, The Drop-Down Day.
The event was conducted with the aim of spreading the importance of
ocean conservation among the students of GIHS. The event was a
grand success and was truly a day to remember.
Students found ways to spread awareness about ocean conservation
through creative ways which included charts and models. The class
was divided into four groups and each group gave solutions for ocean
conservation and ideas for DDD.
The charts and models were kept for display in the school corridor
allowing other students to observe and understand the message that
was conveyed. The group headed by Ms. Numa Siraj made the model
of a sea turtle using waste materials which showed how toxic plastic
can be harmful to aquatic animals.
The other groups made charts to convey the unhealthy effects of
inefficient waste disposal into water bodies. They also offered
solutions to the problem at hand.
Overall, the day was a grand success as it stimulated the creativity of
all students and provided solutions for ocean conservation.
