GRADE 8
Grade 8 students discussed and researched about “Closing the
Plastic Loop”. Students went through a journey to discuss
through the ways to design smart buildings, careful choice of
materials and supply chains, as well as various experiences that
remind us of our connection to the earth. They demonstrated
new ways to regenerate water, upcycle waste, and reduce
carbon emissions, offering palpable insights into a brighter
future. Students researched and explained that they shouldn’t
just throw away waste and that it’s a resource that they can
use to make something new.
Students shared the ideas of how they can recycle plastic items
to useful products to save the Mother Earth. They identified
the ways in which they use plastic and considered alternatives.
Students collected different plastic items that are used in
schools and cafeteria like plastic cup, spoon, water bottles,
used ball pens and they recycled it to get useful products.
Thus, children understood that the littering behavior and
dumping waste should be stopped to protect, restore and
promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably
manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse
land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.
They discussed the ways in which they use plastic at home and
then created a comic strip story about how to reduce waste.
and stuck on the class board. They also created a storyboard
about reducing plastic and summarized their learning.
