GRADE 5-8
GRADE 5
Grade 5 Students with the topic “Food To Façade”
were introduced to the concept that human designs
can have a positive relationship with the natural
environment and create benefits for both humanity
and nature. Students researched about the amount of
food wasted and identified that food waste is a
significant problem in the UAE and across the
developed world. Students engaged in discussions and
PPT presentations about the fraction and value of food
that we waste. They discovered some facts about food
wastage and some ways in which waste food can be
turned into useful products.
Children were engaged in different activities like
poster making, presenting their own PPT based on food
waste management and disposal. They were asked to
write articles about food waste and also to design
material that they can build with food waste and
explain how it could be used.
Students explored examples of building materials
made out of used waste food and then created their
own idea for a material and researched on how it can
be collected, made, used and recycled.
It was profoundly a fun day packed with lot of
activities and children enjoyed a lot.
