Our Planet Is Drowning in Plastic Pollution

The main theme of the Drop down Day was ‘Plastic Pollution’. It commenced with the documentary ‘The Plastic Wave’
directed by Robert James on the tragic situation and the problems caused by the reckless overuse of plastic without
giving a thought about the consequences. After the presentation students came up with commendable ideas and
presented them in the class.

Students participated in various activities during the day such as learning stations and panel discussions focusing on
fighting against plastic pollution, ways to conserve land and water from microplastics, oceanic plastic pollution and on
curbing the use of plasticsby reduce, recycle and reuse. A collage making competition was conducted and the topic for
this was ‘Plastic Challenge. A poster-making activity was also conducted and the topic for this was ‘Exploring Plastic
Pollution’’

Badge making competition about plastic pollution was organized. Students participated actively and made badges with
different quotations and pictures. The badges were shared among the students and they were found wearing these badges
throughout the day.
