Waste Management
Drop-down day in Gulf Indian High School was held on
8 September 2019. It provided students with the ability
th
to be equipped with valuable life skills which extended
beyond the classroom activities.
Students were made aware on the use of Artificial
Intelligence in various areas of waste management by the
computer science teacher. They are very interested to know
how robots are being used in the identification and
separation of the waste material in waste treatment and
recycle centers. Students were given an opportunity to
discuss about the smart bins and the various way of using
it.
Students were taken to the computer lab to design a robot
online with sample code block. Student were also given an
opportunity to design a robot of their choice from reusable
materials.
It helped the students to build self-confidence and
showcase their creativity. They demonstrated a world of
possibilities by showing their creativity and innovative
ideas. Students expressed their ideas in the form of
writing, drawing, etc.
Overall it was an informative and innovative day for the
students. This day helped students gain a deeper
understanding as to how they to control waste in different
localities.
