Form a second loop, right beside
the first one in exactly the same
manner, which will result in the
working and standing ends of the
rope on opposite sides of a biting
                               strand.

             “Scissor” the two
             loops, so that the
             working and standing
             ends are pinned
             against the carabiner
             by the biting strand.

                                   loop allows a climber to
create or take up slack on
                                   the standing or working
                                   end of the hitch, without
                                   unlocking the carabiner or
                                   retying the hitch.
