Running for Student leadership positions
● Students studying a full time load who pass all of their subjects in the previous semester can
run for student leadership positions.
● Students who fail one subject while on a full time load must first discuss their situation with
the Dean of Studies and Deputy Principal and seek approval before applying for leadership
positions. If approved, the student may run while on Academic Support.
● Students who fail two or more subjects in the previous semester are not eligible to run for
student leadership positions in the semester(s) that they are on Academic Support.
● Note that students who fail two or more subjects whilst holding a leadership position may
be required to step down following supportive discussions with staff, and at the discretion of
the Principal.
Please see section(s) below for more information on Academic Support and subject loads.
Community Roles
Each year there may also be opportunities to be part of staff and student co-led working parties
for issues that the community is passionate about. These might range from Wellbeing and
Respectful Relationships to increasing opportunities for intercultural connection and education.
There is one paid student role, for a Student Library Assistant, appointed after application and
interview each year. Other paid roles for students are rare, but may be offered, or advertised by
exception, for specific events and circumstances outside the scope of Student Club leadership
duties. These may include IT assistance on Welcome Sunday, photography for alumni events, and
administrative assistance for private functions etc.
