Medical assistance

Students who are ill during the day should go to:

● University of Melbourne Student Health Centre (138 Cardigan Street) or the Carlton Family
Medical Centre.

For emergencies, go to the Royal Melbourne Hospital Emergency Department (corner of Royal
Parade and Grattan St). Please try to have a friend go with you, and ensure you notify the College

Office, Duty Tutor or your Floor Tutor that you are going.

For students unable or unwilling to go to the Royal Melbourne Hospital after hours, there are home
doctor services that can come to you for bulk-billed consults. See the back of this book for
contact information.

For students deemed unconscious or semi-conscious an ambulance will be called immediately to
take them to hospital. Dial 000 and ask for an ambulance. Please note it is a compulsory
requirement of residence that all students hold personal ambulance cover.

Always call for help If you are worried about your health or that of another student. Students are
responsible for all hospitalisation expenses.

All accidents/incidents must be reported to the Deputy Principal, or the Duty Tutor outside office
hours.
