Procedure for dealing with Prescription Drugs (New in 2025)
Any student or resident staff member uses prescribed (and addictive, dangerous) medications used
for severe pain, ADHD or other conditions must keep these solely for their own use. They should never
be shared with other students or staff. Such drugs (and any prescriptions for repeats) must be stored
and kept locked away in cupboards in locked rooms.
Students are encouraged to communicate the possession of these drugs and the reason for
keeping them onsite to the Deputy Principal. Students and staff are encouraged to keep only the
bare minimum on site or on their person.
Prescription drugs covered by this Procedure include, but are not limited to:
• Opioids such as Endone, Tramadol, Oxycodone.
• Drugs used to treat ADHD such as Ritalin and slow-release Ritalin
• Depressants such as Valium and Benzodiazepines used for Anxiety and sleep difficulties
Students who do not possess their own lockbox and/or padlock can borrow one from the College
via the Deputy Principal.
