rebelled, were too interesting to just get rid of. In all my time here I’ve seen so
many people wake up and try to escape but I’ve never seen anyone succeed. Most
of them were just killed on sight, but those with exceptional skill or powers were
unfortunate enough to be locked in this room sleeping away time itself until they
were needed for something else.
“Start waking them up, but be careful, they’ll be scared and confused.” I
announce.
“Cas, that means stick with me and don’t talk much.” Helena giggles.
I walk to the back of the room to start there while Helena and Cas start at the
front working down towards me. I open a few pods at once and explain the
situation to those who walk out. Thankfully, a majority want to get revenge on
Syndrome and agree to help, a few however, just want to lead as normal a life as
they can and leave the building. None so far are hostile towards us. I send the
ones willing to fight out of the small room to wait in the main office upstairs.
“Helena, Cas, head upstairs and make sure our new friends are doing
alright. I’ll finish the last few here.” I report while unfreezing another pod.
They wave in agreement and head upstairs. I quickly finish my work and
search the room for any remaining pods. A small silver door at the end of the
room draws my attention. Could there really be more? We’ve already set dozens
of people free, how many people has he enslaved?
I open the door but am only met with a single pod. It's bigger than the rest
and more advanced in technology.
“What the hell?” I whisper out loud.
I walk up to the pod and raise my hand to wipe away the frost on the glass
but I'm interrupted by Helena’s voice in my ear.
“Kim, we have a situation, he’s here.” Helena cries.
“What, who?”
