GRACE, Exploring Its Riches
through such seasons, don’t be in a hurry to escape or
get out; it’s your season of grace discovery. There may
be things or depths of life the Almighty God may
want to produce out of you in that desert. At such
times, please, learn to turn to God and place your trust
in Him as your Shepherd. He is able to navigate you
through your desert safely.
Psalm 23 evocatively assures us,
“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He
leads me beside the still waters. He restores my
soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through
the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no
evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff,
they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in
the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head
with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and
mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And
I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.”
Notice in this Psalm of the Shepherd how it describes
our individual walk with the LORD through
different phases of life. There will be moments when
you are in want of nothing because you can openly see
the Lord as your Shepherd. Yes, you lie down
peacefully in green pastures, with still waters to
quench your thirst. It is a time when the Lord’s
righteousness flows through you unrestrained. But as
