Peculiar Grace for Your Destiny
Immediately the Spirit drove Him into the
wilderness. And He was there in the wilderness
forty days, tempted by Satan, and was with the
wild beasts; and the angels ministered to Him.”
One moment Jesus was endorsed by the spectacular
voice of the Father, the next moment He was in the
wilderness being tempted by the devil. It is important
that we learn to discern the times and seasons of our
lives, including seasons in the desert of life and
destiny. No man really comes into destiny fulfilment
who will not have to pass through his desert season.
Greatness by God is crafted in the desert.
Third, we also notice when the time came for Jesus to
fulfil His ultimate destiny, to die for the sins of all of
humanity, He was again subjected to yet another
desert experience in the Garden of Gethsemane.
Matthew 26:36-39 reports,
“Then Jesus came with them to a place called
Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, “Sit here
while I go and pray over there.” And He took with
Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He
began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. Then
He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly
sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch
with Me.” He went a little farther and fell on His
face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is
