                              Your education doesn’t stop once you
                              become an RD. You’ll continue to learn on
                              and off the job. As part of your continued

                              certification, you will be required to com-
                              plete a Professional Development Portfolio (PDP) on a five-year
                              cycle. You will create your own learning plan based on your current
                              job and future career goals, and then document your experiences
                              and progress towards these goals. RDs are required to submit 75
                              CEU (Continuing Education Unit) credits and Dietetic Technicians
                              (Registered) are required to submit 50 CEUs over the five year
                              period.

                              There are many opportunities to expand your credentials and build
                              your knowledge base, from becoming a board specialist in Oncol-
                              ogy, Renal, Sports Medicine, or Pediatric Nutrition, or becoming a
                              certified Diabetes Educator. Your career portfolio continues to help
                              you document your achievements for promotions and new career
                              opportunities.
