For dietitians, it’s all about getting the right education, the right
internship, and then continuing to learn and contribute to the field
                              as a professional.
Most dietetic programs have very specific course plans and you
should have much of your course calendar planned out. You may be
in a didactic program where you get your degree and then apply for
a dietetic internship. You might be in a combined program where
the internship is integrated into the degree experience. It is very
important to identify at the beginning of your program exactly what
the requirements are and what you will need to do to get a dietetic
internship. Begin collecting work samples and documenting your
experiences as soon as possible throughout your undergraduate
                              experience.

Take advantage of the career resources your school offers. Colleges
and universities are being asked to prove that their students are
being gainfully employed after receiving degrees, and they have an
interest in helping you succeed. Meet with your counselor or adviser
in your first year and map a course plan to make sure you take the
classes you need in the correct order. Track your progress and
make sure you have all the courses you need to graduate on time.
