“I saw in my mind …..”
“In my mind it was red
because hearts are red,
but when I imagined it as a stone, it was black.”
“What is it?
I’m really nervous about breaking it.
There is a little bit of wire that is flexible.
And this shape reminds me of ears.
Maybe a face?
And a tail curling around here?
This is completely different to what I imagined.”
Faces grimace, heads lean towards materials as if trying to ‘look’ through closed eyes.
Closed eyes gaze towards the ceiling in seeking an answer to the question ‘what is it’?
We noticed that concepts were a powerful influence on the mental image. The mental image of the heart was red
because the conceptual understanding was that hearts are red.
