“Different cameras saw different things.
My camera saw the cavern and the rock and the separation between the different forms within the agate.
The other camera saw the surface of the rock.”
“The torch didn’t belong anywhere when we put everything into
categories. And the shell was plain on its own. But when light was
added to the shell it had more meaning, the colours were
magnified, they were more noticeable.”
Relations are complicated by the digital camera. The image created by the camera is just that - an image. It offers
us another point of view of the actual.
The torch in this encounter didn’t fit. Teacher~researchers called it a ‘disrupter’. We also found it to be disruptive.
Was the light a found material? How could it be understood in relation to things~objects~materials?
