Successful people don’t waste time over-analysing their mistakes and rehashing
what went wrong. They pause to reflect on what went wrong and what they should
do differently next time. They take a lesson from their mistake and then move on.
Dwelling on past mistakes is counter-productive and will not advance your thought
leadership plans.
Remember, when you operate from your Ikigai, you are centred and working from a
position of strength. Be diligent about finding ways to add value, even if that means
dealing with a few bumps along the way.

“The more you do, the more you fail. The more you fail, the more you learn.
The more you learn, the better you get.”
2. Start building your influence
Start small
When you are ready to begin, start small.
Test your ideas and concepts with people you trust – your PLN (remember Denise
Brosseau’s definition of a Peronal Learning Network being your “friends, fans and
followers?) Ask them for advice on your vision and thought leadership road map.
What resonates with them? By gathering insights from people with different
perspectives, you can fine-tune your ideas and start discovering how to position your
message and personal brand/
